Webinar: We’re gonna’ need a bigger boat! Ecology & conservation of big fish

Date/Time

21/05/2020 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Event Information

Seaquest will be joined by Dr Natasha Phillips to take a look at the ecology and conservation of some of the world’s largest fishes!

One of the great ironies of marine research is how little we know about some of the biggest and most charismatic fish species. This might be due to lack of commercial interest or limited funding for conservation research, but as bigger fish face higher risk of extinction in our rapidly changing oceans, the tide is turning and researchers are racing to understand and protect some of our most popular species. In this talk we will look at the ecology and conservation of some of the world’s largest fishes including sunfish, skate and sharks!
